Review: Superior Spider-Man #25

Review of Superior Spider-Man #25

Spoilers, Spoilers, and then some Spoilers.

The comic begins with the"Superior Venom" rampaging through New York.  For some reason the symbiote has made the Superior Spider-Man into a supercharged version of Venom that is capable of battling toe to toe with the Avengers. This is where most of the action occurs as the Avengers try to separate the Venom symbiote from their friend Spider-Man.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man's friend Carlie  Cooper has been injected with the goblin serum and is being initiated into the Green Goblin's crew.  Her ruthlessness is tested by Menace.

During Otto's battle with the Avengers he begins to realize that the symbiote has taken him over.  However, he lacks the willpower to remove it.  Peter Parker consciousness secretly wakens and forces the symbiote away.  With symbiote away the Avengers begin questioning Spider-Man.  They have realized that he is not the same since Peter Parker left.  They bring him in to Avengers tower for questioning after it is revealed by Tony Stark that Spiderman had snuck in and deleted files.

The action in the book was pretty solid with a rather epic Venom vs Avengers battle.  The story of Otos world starting to unravel was also pretty good.
If I have a beef with this book it is that since Superior Spider-Man I still don't feel like I have someone to root for.
